Spread the wordInternational transfer spending in men’s football rose to a record $13.08 billion in 2025, with clubs completing an unprecedented 24,558 cross-border deals, according to FIFA’s Global Transfer Report released on Wednesday. The figure represents an increase of more than seven per cent compared with 2024 and marks the highest number of international men’s transfers ever recorded. Women’s football also recorded significant growth, with 2,440 international transfers completed in 2025 — an increase of more than six per cent on the previous year. Total spending in the women’s game reached a record $28.6 million, representing an increase of over 80 per cent compared with 2024. The report highlights continued growth in the global transfer market, driven by increased investment, expanding competitions and rising interest across both the men’s and women’s games.
