Grand County School District has named Matthew Keyes as its new superintendent, formalizing the role he has held on an interim basis since September’s sudden leadership change. Keyes stepped into the interim position after the school board dismissed Dr. Michael McFalls just days before the 2025-26 school year began. Prior to his interim appointment, Keyes served as the district’s business administrator, overseeing fiscal health and operational logistics. He also has experience with the San Juan County School District. The board credited Keyes with maintaining stability and fostering a collaborative environment during his time as interim superintendent.
