On Tuesday night, though, a bombshell report emerged saying that Belichick would not be selected to the Hall of Fame this year. In a surprise turn, though, Polian is now claiming he voted for Belichick to get into the Hall of Fame. “I voted for coach Belichick in the Hall of Fame selection meeting,” Polian said as part of a statement he read on Sirius XM Radio. Again, I’ll state that I never said that I believe that coach Belichick should ‘wait a year’ for enshrinement. Belichick will make it into the Hall of Fame eventually, but there’s no doubt that this is an egregious miss by the selection committee.
