Netflix chooses Western Australia as location for new surfing series Breakers starring The Boys’ Antony Starr

Global streaming powerhouse Netflix has chosen Western Australia as the location for its new TV drama, Breakers, which began filming in the State’s South West this week.
It is being made in partnership with BBC Studios Productions and will star The Boys’ Antony Starr as a man who presides over a community of surfers.

“Screenwest is delighted to welcome Netflix to Western Australia for the first time,” Screenwest chief executive officer Rikki Lea Bestall said.
“Attracting a production of this scale to Western Australia is a very exciting opportunity for the local screen industry,” Creative Industries Minister Simone McGurk said.
