During the congress, former National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi was confirmed as the Democratic Party leader and its presidential candidate, a move that drew support from across the opposition spectrum.
Addressing delegates, Muturi claimed there were deliberate attempts to undermine the unity of the United Opposition by elements linked to the Kenya Kwanza administration.
“United opposition stands firm,” he declared, adding that the country is not beyond repair.
PLP leader Martha Karua said the shared determination to remove the Kenya Kwanza administration from power continues to bind opposition leaders together.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka echoed the message, assuring Kenyans that opposition unity remains intact and is key to defeating President Ruto.
