DULUTH — District 8 Sen. Jen McEwen, DFL-Duluth, announced Wednesday that she will seek reelection, but not with much fanfare. “It didn’t feel right to do a press conference with what is happening in our city and state,” said McEwen in a statement. McEwen also helped secure support for replacing all residential lead service lines in Minnesota, including $62 million in state funding for Duluth. It’s time we finally get it right, take back our public goods, and start treating healthcare like the human right that it is.”First elected in 2020, McEwen won reelection in 2022 with 71% of the vote. Prior to serving in the Minnesota Senate, McEwen served as an attorney representing workers with disability claims against insurance companies and served as board chair of the Damiano Center.
