FANB and Citizen Security Agencies Swear Allegiance to Delcy Rodríguez as Commander-in-Chief

RELATED:Delcy Rodríguez Receives Insignia as Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed ForcesAccompanying the president were representatives from the five branches of the FANB, the President of the National Assembly (Parliament), Jorge Rodríguez, the Vice President for Politics, Citizen Security, and Peace, Captain Diosdado Cabello, intelligence agencies, the accredited diplomatic corps, and other civilian and military authorities.
As part of the protocol, Padrino presented Rodríguez with the Baton of Command and highlighted that, for the first time, a woman has assumed the presidency of the Republic and the title of Commander-in-Chief of the FANB.
She stated that this symbol would be well cared for, recognizing “her virtues, integrity, and honesty, and that she will know how to take care of this nation.”Likewise, the acting president was presented with a replica of the sword of the Liberator Simón Bolívar.
In her remarks, Rodríguez expressed the honor she felt in being in charge during “an extraordinary and complex juncture” in the last two centuries of national history.
She announced the decision to create a national office for security and defense, which will be attached to the Council of Vice Presidents and headed by the Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez.
