Nanta: Sarawak to head to the polls this year, GPS will retain majority

Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Threads WhatsApp TelegramKUCHING (Jan 29): Sarawak is set to call its state election this year, confirmed Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) secretary-general Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
The last state election was held on Dec 18, 2021.
“We are now having 82 state seats, but it was already approved in the DUN last year that there will be an additional 17 new seats, making the total at 99.
“That has to be endorsed in the Dewan Rakyat and if that is done, there should be 99 state seats.
On healthcare and education autonomy, Nanta said all Sarawak wants is to have a say over these sectors.
