Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Jason Geary announces that Dr. Nicholas V. Longo has been appointed director of the newly founded Rutgers Democracy Lab. On Wednesday, Rutgers–New Brunswick Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Jason Geary announced that Dr. Nicholas V. Longo has been appointed the inaugural director of the Rutgers Democracy Lab, effective beginning Feburary 1. The Rutgers Democracy Lab is an initiative hosted at Eagleton Institute of Politics focused on giving future generations of students the resources necessary to "support and enhance democracy." The Lab was first announced in November 2024 and fully launched in 2025 alongside its recently established Technology and Democracy Research Hub. "The Lab's mission is to strengthen American democracy through education, dialogue across differences and collaborative problem-solving," said Geary.
