The Farmers’ Almanac was purchased by a new owner on Wednesday, saving the publication from “permanent closure,” according to a press release. The 208-year-old publication was “acquired under new ownership” by Farmers’ Almanac LLC, a “New York-based company dedicated to preserving and sustaining the iconic publication,” according to the press release. The Farmers’ Almanac was originally founded in 1818 by David Young and Jacob Mann and has been in continuous production since then.
