Yorkshire Water has announced it will hike average bills by £2.50 a month from April. The company said it had made the decision to help pay for £8.3 billion worth of investments, which it says will improve customer service and environmental outcomes. The move will see bills increase by 5.6% and sits above the rate of inflation. However, Matt Pinder, customer director at Yorkshire Water, said the decision will help to fund projects such as improvements to storm overflows and mains replacements.
