She released the following statement to The Johnston County Report:After thoughtful reflection, I have decided to resign my position on the Selma Town Council, effective immediately. I also believe that effective leadership requires collaboration, adequate deliberation, thorough research of issues, and shared expectations around process. I thank the residents of Selma for their engagement and support, and I wish the Town Council continued success in its work on behalf of the community. Mrs. Watson was appointed to the town council in November 2023 and won elected in November 2025.
