Island Grove will once again welcome a true baseball legend Saturday, with 9-time MLB All Star Gary Sheffield taking the stage at the annual Breakfast of Champions. The annual fundraiser kicks off at 8 a.m. at Island Grove Regional Park, 421 15th. Sheffield was the National League batting champion in 1992, hitting a career-best .330 with the San Diego Padres. Friends of Baseball is a nonprofit dedicated to creating opportunities to play baseball in Northern Colorado. All proceeds benefit Friends of Baseball youth baseball programs.
