CORNWALL, Vt. (WCAX) - A rare piece of Vermont’s industrial history is for sale in Cornwall. The shop represents a surviving example of the state’s early industrial past and shows how essential blacksmiths were to Vermont communities. “We’re in the old stone blacksmith shop in Cornwall, Vermont,” said Barbara Harding. “The equipment in here has always been in a working blacksmith shop.”Inside, the tools of the trade remain intact. “Just to find it was in my DNA -- of course I wanted to have a blacksmith shop,” she said.
