ST. MICHAEL — A cold shooting night for the Alexandria girls basketball team proved to be the difference on Tuesday, Jan. 27. The Cardinals struggled to find a consistent offensive rhythm in a 64-36 road loss to St. Michael-Albertville. Beyer knocked down a few 3-pointers, while McKinley Hoelscher and Hennessy added buckets to help Alexandria trim the deficit to 10 points. But with Alexandria shooting 4-for-25 (16%) from beyond the arc, the margin proved too much against a team that hit 11 threes and moved the ball well. Alexandria was led by Hoelscher’s 14 points and Riley Beyer added 13 points, three rebounds and three assists.
