The DHS “worst of the worst” website lists fewer than 490 people, but it’s unclear exactly when those arrests occurred in Minnesota, because the information isn’t listed. At briefings last week, at the Whipple Federal Building in Minneapolis, federal immigration officials showed photos of people arrested in “Operation Metro Surge,” some with no names listed. Without information about the name of the person arrested by federal immigration, it’s impossible to check federal ICE records to learn more about the arrestee. 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS reached out to ICE officials on Wednesday to try to learn more about their arrest data, but at the time of publication, they were still waiting for a reply.
