Trying to fly without a REAL ID? TSA introducing $45 fee to verify identity

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has introduced a new ID option for air travelers. Starting on Feb. 1, airline passengers without a REAL ID or another acceptable form of ID at a TSA checkpoint will have the option to use ConfirmID, an alternate identity verification process. ConfirmID allows travelers to pay a $45 fee to verify their identity, which is valid for 10 days. TSA says the identification process typically takes 10-15 minutes, but it may take 30 minutes or more. If you choose not to use it and don’t have an acceptable ID, you may not be allowed through security.
