MAPLE GROVE — Eric Fordyce scored the game-winning goal and then added an insurance goal to move the Brainerd Warriors' winning streak to 23 straight with a 7-4 victory over Maple Grove Wednesday, Jan. 28. Fordyce then tallied five minutes later, but Maple Grove answered with a goal less than a minute later. Owen Olsen recorded two assists and Aiden Olsen rounded out the scoring with an unassisted goal at 11:48 of the third. “We did a better job of putting the puck on net in the third period and went after the puck with a bit more urgency when it was in front of the Maple Grove goal. “It will be a good game when Maple Grove comes to Brainerd in a couple of weeks for our final game of the regular season.”Brainerd bested Maple Grove 9-2 Saturday, Jan. 17, on its way to winning the inaugural Crimson Cup.
