The Minnesota women’s basketball team improved to 15-6 on the season with a 21-point victory at Penn State Wednesday evening. Tori McKinney led the Gophers with 23 points, while Mara Braun recorded 22 points in an 87-66 defeat of the Nittany Lions. ADVERTISEMENTMinnesota was unable to shake Penn State throughout the first half, holding a slim 42-38 lead at the break. The Gophers ramped up the offense in the second half however, keyed by a 17-7 run in the third quarter. The Gophers played good team basketball as well, recording 20 total assists and forcing the Nittany Lions into 14 turnovers.
