Darby Friday scored three goals and Sasha Cole scored two to power the Duluth Northern Stars past Rock Ridge 5-1 at home on Wednesday night. Rock Ridge snapped a four-game losing streak the night before with a 1-0 win against Hibbing/Chisholm. Rock Ridge would get on the board in the third thanks to a goal from Ava Venne, but Sasha Cole’s second goal of the game would ice it for the Northern Stars. The Northern Stars improve to 15-7-2, while the Wolverines drop to 8-14-1. Rock Ridge gets a day off before visiting Roseau (13-10) on Friday, January 30.
