YATES CENTER — Cayten Cummings scored 19 points and Kinley Morrison scored 11 as Yates Center High’s girls pulled away for a 36-19 win over Marmaton Valley Tuesday. The contest marked the second time in a week the two teams had played, with Yates Center getting the upper hand on both occasions. Emma Louk, MVHS freshman forward, puts up a shot while being guarded by Yates Center senior guard Lakyn Solander. Leer and Louk scored seven and six points to pace Marmaton Valley (2-13). Yates Center is back in action Friday at Jayhawk-Linn, while Marmaton Valley travels to Southeast-Cherokee.
