Indeed, most Americans, including children who will not be taught about it in their schools, will not even know that there is a National Four Chaplains Day, or why.
“The heroism of the Four Chaplains, their courage, is of a different order,” Gen. Brady explained to me in an interview.
But a question is raised on this Four Chaplains Day, Feb. 3, 2026: Do Americans of this era, in government, in the media, in the public schools as teachers or administrators, still believe in those truths?
On Four Chaplains Day, Feb. 3, 2026— the 80third anniversary of the day in which the Four Chaplains sacrificed their lives “so that others may live.” —will the media again fail to report on it, and the schools fail to teach it, and Americans, in the main, fail to observe it?
