In a Jan. 28 social media post, Saugeen Shores Police Service said they responded to a report of an assault in Port Elgin Jan. 19 and found that a man had been sprayed with a substance believed to be pepper spray. When he was arrested Jan. 27 police located syringes, a metal baton, gloves, metal handcuffs and rope in his backpack. He was been charged with:– assault with a weapon– uttering threats– possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes– carry a concealed weapon and– possession of a Schedule 1 substance .
