My sympathies to the families and colleagues of the Department of Transportation (DOT) workers who were killed in the I-95 ramp accident in Waterville. Road crews should use speed bumps to slow down traffic entering Route 148 in Madison, along with creating better sight lines for traffic coming onto Route 148, by trimming trees, adding more signage and posting slower speed limits. Anyone with driving experience knows better than to put a four-way stop sign at an intersection, going up a hill, on a busy main road. Adding speed bumps and a little cleanup is not expensive. I know it will be more than the cost of two stop signs — but, please, try it first.
