San Diego State’s women’s basketball team rode its defense to a 12th straight win Wednesday afternoon, scoring a 46-44 victory at Colorado State despite shooting only 34% from the floor while going 0-for-12 on three-point attempts.
Colorado State fell to 17-5 and 8-3.
Jackson, a 5-foot-11 guard/forward, had 11 defensive rebounds to lead the Aztecs to a 40-30 edge on the boards.
A pair of Colorado State 3-pointers coupled with the Aztecs missing five of six free-throw attempts allowed the Rams to have the final possession with three seconds to go before Aztecs guard Nat Martinez forced a win-clinching turnover.
Wednesday marked the first time in 11 seasons that San Diego State won a game without making a 3-point shot.
