Google Fiber (which is increasingly going by “GFiber” these days) is upgrading its service to start at 3 Gig as part of its multi-gig future, beginning in Des Moines. The “Core 1 Gig” plan is now called “Core 3 Gig” (symmetrical), while keeping the same $70 per month price introduced in 2012. Meanwhile, “Home 3 Gig” is now “Home 5 Gig” at the same $100/month.
