Geoff Birchnell, 3R Angus, Loomberah, was selling 30 older heifers, but was also on the lookout for heifers to buy from clients to sell in his commercial female sale in winter as either pregnancy-tested-in-calf (PTIC) or able to sell into the feedlot trade. One pen of 16 heifers, averaging 361kg, sold for 460c/kg.
