Power was restored to over 4,000 people who were without power in the Lafayette and Louisville areas Wednesday night. Power initially went out at about 6:55 p.m. for 4,308 Xcel Energy customers, according to the utility’s online outage map. The map later showed two outages, one affecting 389 in the Waneka Lake area and another affecting 3,919 in the east Boulder and Louisville area. Both outages were no longer on the utility’s map as of about 8 p.m.Xcel Energy initially estimated the Waneka Lake outage would be restored by 9 p.m. and the Louisville-area outage by 10 p.m.As of 8 p.m., an Xcel Energy spokesperson did not yet provide information about what caused the outage.
