KINGSTON, N.Y. — Several witnesses testified on Wednesday that they were so concerned by the erratic driving of Luc LeBlanc on Aug. 2, 2020, that they passed the tractor-trailer he was driving to get away. State Trooper Christina Grubb, who was first on the scene of the crash, told jurors a crane had to be used to lift the semi from the Honda. Dash cam video shown to jurors showed traffic slowing and stopping as the tractor-trailer continued at about 60 miles per hour. “We were passing because it was swaying off the road and we got scared and decided to pass it,” she told jurors. Karan, who was driving the Kia, echoed Singh’s testimony, telling jurors he passed the semi because its repeated swerving made him uncomfortable.
