The family moved into a small rented duplex, offering them little space and no way to build equity. That changed Tuesday when the family received the keys to their new home, a Habitat for Humanity build in south Loveland. Charles Keeney, the youngest in the household, said he was looking forward to having his own bedroom for the very first time. “I want to thank everyone from Habitat, especially Michelle (Ackerman, Loveland Habitat for Humanity homeowner services director), all the volunteers, all the teams who have helped,” Hilarie Keeney said. Recipients of Habitat for Humanity homes have other requirements that must be met as well, including a certain income level, and enrollment in a financial education course that teaches first time homeowners proper management of their new property.
