Amidst land disputes and evictions in settlements of Port Moresby the traditional landowners of Korobosea 2 and 3 have announced a unprecedented decision: they want their settlers to stay.
The landowners, who hold complete legal titles to the settlement areas in Korobosea 2 and 3, have expressed their willingness to negotiate with the National Capital District Commission (NCDC).
Their goal is to formalize the settlements, allowing long-term residents to remain on the land in an orderly and legally recognized fashion.
