Allenspark resident Betty Edwards was upstairs with her 6-year-old granddaughter when she heard her husband yell from downstairs that their home was on fire. Edwards’ husband, Joe, was on the phone when he first saw the flames. “There was so much smoke, and the ceiling was starting to cave in, so we just had to leave everything. The deli will be closed for at least a week while the family gets back on their feet, Edwards said. Some Estes Park community members have organized for clothing and other donations to be dropped off outside of the deli, and a GoFundMe for the family had raised over $18,000 as of Wednesday afternoon.
