DeKALB —Dropping its second consecutive game, NIU women’s basketball (4-16, 2-7 MAC) fell to the Mid-American Conference-leading Miami University Redhawks(17-4, 9-0 MAC) in a 71-43 loss. Wednesday’s home matchup against Miami marked the fifth time this season that the Huskies have failed to reach the 50-point mark in a game, scoring a season-low 43 points. The Huskies, the lowest-scoring team in the MAC, struggled in the second half, totaling 21 points on just four made field goals to end the game. The San Juan, Puerto Rico native finished the game with 11 points on 3/6 shooting from the field and 5/6 from the charity stripe. In 26 minutes, Wingate put up four points on 1/5 shooting while going 2/2 from the free throw line.
