Iowa City massage parlor owner Junping Ren surrendered her massage license, following charges of money laundering and prostitution. Junping Ren, 56, of Iowa City, surrendered her license, according to the Iowa Department of Public Health’s Bureau of Professional Licensure. Ren and her husband, Zhenshi Liu, 60, of Iowa City, are facing multiple charges, including prostitution, pimping, money laundering, and ongoing criminal conduct. The joint criminal investigation resulted in the arrest of three individuals accused of prostitution: Ren, Liu, and their son, Yang Liu. The affidavit also noted investigators reviewed the spa’s banking records and identified behavior and transactions suggestive of money laundering.
