Vacaville to charge credit card fees

Residents and businesses who pay city fees with a credit card in Vacaville will soon see an added charge on their bills.
The Vacaville City Council voted Tuesday to pass the first 3 percent of credit card processing fees on to consumers, a change that will affect more than half of all payments made to the city.
Last January, the council approved processing fees for TRAKiT, he said, which will save Vacaville $30,000 to $50,000 annually.
The Council also hosted its second Business License Tax Structure Study Session, the first of which was hosted on Dec.10.
“There is room for some opportunity to improve the tax structure and the results that are coming from that tax structure,” Meyers said.
