For the past two months the local book shop has hosted a number of foster cats in partnership with the Tift County Animal Shelter, allowing their customers to meet, play with, and potentially adopt a feline friend or two as they shop for their next good read. Shop owner Sydney Henderson explained that her customers had been inquiring about Second Thoughts having a “bookstore cat” for some time, but she had never considered the idea due to her own severe cat allergies. Second Thoughts Bookstore is located at 221 E. Third St. and is open Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays noon to 6 p.m. For more information, contact (229) 329-2966.
