St Johnstone hope to make at least £100,000 from a McDiarmid Park music festival at the end of the season AND improve their playing surface.
Since buying the Perth club from Geoff Brown, owner, Adam Webb, has sought to identify new revenue streams.
When Elton John performed at McDiarmid in 2008, around 16,000 people were packed into the ground.
“I look upon it as an opportunity to bring people to McDiarmid Park who have never been here.
Putting down an improved playing surface after the festival weekend is over will benefit Simo Valakari’s team next season, according to Webb.
