Aer Lingus confirms closure of Manchester base – New York ends in four weeks

Back in November, we reported that Aer Lingus had told staff at its Manchester base that it may close the operation. Manchester to Dublin flights are not impactedFor clarity, the base closure only impacts the three long-haul routes operated from Manchester. Here’s the official announcementThe following message has appeared on the Aer Lingus website:A decision has been taken to cease Aer Lingus’ Manchester transatlantic operations as of and from 31st March 2026. There is no impact to Aer Lingus or Aer Lingus Regional (Emerald Airlines) flights between Manchester and Ireland. The majority of the pilots who work from Manchester are seconded to Aer Lingus UK from Aer Lingus Ireland and are guaranteed a transfer back.
