A busy route was closed to traffic in all directions following a serious collision, with a raft of emergency crews dispatched to the scene overnight. The A1 in Northumberland remained closed for most of the night o traffic in both directions following a late Wednesday night crash. The closure impacted the stretch of carriageway between the A6105 at Berwick-upon-Tweed and the A1107 at Eyemouth, National Highways confirmed. The A1 has since reopened in both directions.
