The Vallejo City Council directed staff Tuesday to craft a financing and funding plan for large-scale city projects and look into next steps for financing the police department headquarters. The council authorized Nalungo Conley, Assistant City Manager/Acting Finance Director, to explore possibly renegotiating those constraints. During discussion before the vote, “Do we currently have a long-term financial plan?” Council Member Charles Palmares asked. Council Member Tonia Lediju, former executive director of the San Francisco Housing Authority, embraced the idea. “Debt capacity without a long-term financial framework leads to reactive decisions.”After the discussion, the council voted on a motion from Council Member Peter Bregenzer.
