The sentence was handed down after a jury earlier this month found McGuire guilty on one count of first-degree murder in Seghi's death. "McGuire told the woman he had a crush on her, but she made it clear she was not interested," the release states. "That same month, McGuire physical[ly] confronted the victim, believing he was also pursuing a relationship with the woman." About a year after McGuire initially confronted Seghi about the woman, Seghi was gunned down in front of his home. "According to witnesses, McGuire approached the vehicle and shot the victim multiple times in the chest before running away."
