ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 34-year-old has been sentenced to 22 years in prison, plus five years of post-release supervision, for a shooting that killed 29-year-old Sean Semprie.
According to prosecutors, Jose Acevedo got into an argument with Semprie inside Black Bear Pub.
After the bar closed, prosecutors say Acevedo shot Semprie.
In March 2024, an indictment was unsealed charged Acevedo with the homicide.
At the time of the indictment, prosecutors say Acevedo was already in prison on unrelated gun charges.
