A POPULAR shoe store is closing all of its remaining full-price stores by the end of February to streamline its operation. It currently operates 21 stores across the country, and the company said that it expects the closures to be “capital-light”. The shoe company will keep two outlet stores nationwide, and two full-price stores in London. At the start of last year, experts estimated 15,000 store closures in 2025 – more than double 2024’s numbers and the highest number seen since the pandemic. Before the closure announcement, Allbirds had revamped some of its stores and released an updated version of its first-ever shoe, the Wool Runner.
