DPNews@DominionPost.comMORGANTOWN — Monongalia County Circuit Court has sentenced Chance Williams, 26, of Morgantown, to 25 years in state custody following his conviction for the 2022 murder of Jamey Corbin.
The sentencing follows a November 2025 trial in which a jury found Williams guilty of second-degree murder.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered Mr. Corbin unresponsive in the driver’s seat and discovered that Mr. Corbin had suffered multiple stab wounds.
I also want to credit the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for putting forth a clear and concise case to the jury.
It was this collective effort that delivered the guilty verdict and ensured justice for Mr. Corbin.”Under West Virginia law, Williams must serve a minimum of 10 years of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
