(Andy Tullis/The Bulletin)REDMOND — On the whiteboard in the visitor’s locker room at Ridgeview High, the phrase “absorb the blow” was written by Caldera boys basketball coach Evan Dougherty. “We knew (Ridgeview) was going to punch back,” Dougherty said. Sophomore Evan Thompson came up big in the second half for the Wolfpack, scoring 14 of his team-high 21 points after halftime. Ridgeview was led by standout junior Gavin Leunen, who scored 23 of his game-high 30 points in the second half. “It feels good to get another one to go our way.”Perhaps playing in close games night after night is what this season’s Caldera team needs.
