The indictment provides for a jail term of up to 30 years and whipping, upon conviction. On the first to the second charges, the accused was sentenced to 12 years and 15 years’ imprisonment respectively. He was also ordered to be given two strokes of the cane for each of the charges and the jail term would start from when his bail was revoked on October 19, 2022. The prosecution had called seven witnesses to testify against the accused while the accused, who was represented by counsel Datuk Peter Allion, produced three witnesses.
