A former police officer and military veteran faced a slew of criminal charges Wednesday in connection with the shooting of a Roseville police officer last weekend during a barricaded gunman situation.
Daniel Waldrep, 30, of Roseville, was arraigned in 39th District Court on several counts of assault with intent to murder, weapons, and domestic violence.
Additional domestic violence charges against him in those cases were dismissed.
He resigned from the Detroit Police Department following the assault and domestic violence charges.
Roseville Police Chief Mitchell Berlin said the wounded officer has been a police officer for seven years and with the Roseville Police Department for the past two years.
