Imagine a series finale being so dissatisfying that the entire fandom theorized a secret, “real” finale that would air a week later? After a long three-and-a-half-year wait, the popular Netflix series “Stranger Things” released their fifth and final season. Between the weak writing, numerous plot holes and overall loss of sublime from previous seasons, the “Stranger Things” finale felt both rushed and anticlimactic. Rather, I am arguing why the “Stranger Things” finale was so underwhelming. The harsh truth is the “Stranger Things” finale did not need to be great to succeed — it only needed to exist.
