ISLAMABAD: Soumya Arshad, the widow of renowned journalist Arshad Sharif, has filed a petition with the Constitutional Court, urging the formation of a high-level judicial commission to thoroughly investigate her husband’s murder case. In her plea, Soumya Arshad requested that the court continue the proceedings initiated under her suo motu notice rather than dismissing the case. She emphasized that the investigation should involve summoning the nine individuals accused of being involved and demanding their responses to the allegations. Additionally, Soumya Arshad demanded the seizure of properties allegedly linked to the accused in both Kenya and Pakistan. The court is expected to review her petition and decide on the matter at a future date.
