Stornoway Original Factory Shop to close with five north and north-east stores at risk

The Original Factory Shop in Stornoway is set to close after the chain went into administration.
A further five stores across the north and north-east in Buckie, Fraserburgh, Stonehaven, Thurso and Oban are also under threat.
The Stornoway store, part of the Co-op on Macaulay Road, shared on social media: “We’re sorry to let you know this store is closing.
“We have loved serving you and being part of the community for the last 4 years.”The Original Factory Shop’s troubles due to ‘high inflation’The Original Factory Shop has already closed several stores in the north and north-east, including in Fort William, Invergordon, Inverness, Nairn and Peterhead.
The Original Factory Shop has been approached for comment.
